Kroonenberg Groep and Deka reach agreement about sale of the Bank
Kroonenberg Groep has reached an agreement with Deka Immobilien GmbH about the sale of The Bank in Amsterdam involving an amount of more than 275 million euros. The transfer of title will most likely occur before the end of this year.
In 2006, Kroonenberg Groep became the sole owner of The Bank and since that time has commissioned a major redevelopment of the former ABN AMRO headquarters to make it a building with international appeal that not only satisfies the needs of its users but has also contributed greatly to the revitalisation of Amsterdam’s city centre.
As an indication of the success of this major redevelopment project, it was presented the prestigious 2012 FGH Vastgoedprijs.
Lesley Bamberger: “With The Bank, we have created a beautiful feature for the city of Amsterdam. We will be continuing this success with our other projects in the city such as the Gelderlandplein and Kalvertoren projects where our focus is more on prime retail locations.”
Long-term leases have now been signed for all the space available in The Bank. Booking.com, Guerrilla Games and BNP Paribas are leasing a total of approx. 25,000 m² of office space. Being accommodated at the storefront level that provides approx. 7,000 m² of multifunctional space are Marqt, Starbucks, Wagamama, Vapiano, Shabu Shabu, Hummbar and ABN AMRO. The Bank also has its own public parking garage operated by Parkking.
Kroonenberg Groep was advised in this sale by KroesePaternotte and Houthoff Buruma. Deka Immobilien GmbH was advised by BakerMcKenzie.
