The Markthof in Hoofddorp completely leased
Kroonenberg Groep and ProWinko have signed a lease with See Tickets Nederland B.V. for all of the office space in the Markthof Offices office building on Marktplein in Hoofddorp. See Tickets is the Netherlands’ largest outlet for the sale of tickets for events and concerts.
This lease transaction means that all the functions provided by the Markthof will be occupied. Following the demolition of the former Markthof, Kroonenberg Groep and ProWinko started construction on the new Markthof in 2009: a new residential, work and parking complex with upscale office space. This new construction was part of the renovation and expansion of Hoofddorp’s existing central shopping area. A total of 13,500 m2 in retail space, 2.000 m2 in office space, 49 homes and 250 parking spaces were realised.
In 2012, this redevelopment project was submitted for the Annual NRW Award presented by the Dutch Council of Shopping Centers and won it. The jury noted that the building was redeveloped to a high level of quality and thus had a long sustainable future ahead of it. The new Markthof meets all of today’s requirements. Unlike the former building, the new Markthof is not closed off from its surroundings but invites people inside. This redevelopment has meant an enormous impetus for the entire centre area of Hoofddorp and has thus resulted in making it much more attractive to consumers.
The retail spaces have been leased by such companies as Primark, Hennes & Mauritz, The Sting, Nelson Schoenen, Zeeman, Scapino and Febo. The 49 homes were sold to Syntrus Achmea in 2011.
For the transaction with See Tickets Nederland B.V., Kroonenberg Groep and ProWinko were advised by Jones Lang LaSalle, which had a joint letting instruction with Cushman & Wakefield. The lessee was advised by DRS Makelaars.
