The Bank property completely leased
With the signing of two leases, Kroonenberg Groep has leased all the space in The Bank property. Two existing lessees expanded their leases to occupy the property’s remaining 6,700 m². Booking.com, the world’s leading supplier of hotel reservations, leased two more floors in The Bank property to accommodate the expansion of its activities. Another lessee, Guerrilla Games (a subsidiary of the Japanese-based Sony PlayStation) has also added space to its existing offices. Now, within two years after its opening, the more than 25,000 m2 of office space in The Bank property is completely occupied.
These lease transactions demonstrate once again how successful the redevelopment of the former ABN AMRO headquarters in the centre of Amsterdam has been. Kroonenberg Groep is pleased that its lessees have confirmed this. Lesley Bamberger: ‘Winning the
FGH Vastgoedprijs 2012 was a huge honour for us. The fact that our existing lessees decided to expand their contracts shows what a good work climate The Bank property provides. The kind of environment that we intended in our plans for redevelopment is being acknowledged and appreciated by our users.’
Kroonenberg Groep made sweeping changes in the property during its redevelopment of the former ABN AMRO headquarters. The property now exudes an international cachet that not only satisfies the needs of its users but is also providing the centre of Amsterdam with an incentive for further upgrading and redevelopment.
Besides Booking.com and Guerrilla Games, BNP Paribas also leases office space in The Bank property. At street level, the approximately 7,000 m2 of multifunctional space accommodates Marqt, Starbucks, Wagamama, George Deli U.S.A., Vapiano and Ajax Experience. ParkKing operates the 110 parkingspaces.
NL Real Estate represented the interests of Booking.com in this transaction; CBRE and DTZ Zadelhof received their letting instructions from Kroonenberg Groep.
